Old Enough to Know Better Young Enough Not to Care

It was my worst nightmare. There I was twenty-one, heartbroken, and late to the airport with an expired passport on the BIG birthday.

I felt lost after yet another failed attempt to run away from my problems. One distraction after another I found myself just as naïve as I was in my teenage years.

As I allowed time to heal from my heartache and a pathetic twenty-first birthday. I thought how my inability to sit still was defining my life.

I couldn’t help but wonder: Is it harder to run away from our problems? Or easier to solve at the brink of woe?

Every break or chance of a still moment, I was planning my next move. Maybe I was avoiding crying over careless boys, a shopping addiction, or hating myself more than I already did…

Nonetheless, I was a prisoner of the problems of my past.

Fast-forward, one year later… I’m Old Enough to Know Better, Young Enough Not to Care.

Old enough to know better young enough not to care

July 26, 5:30, my birthday.

Sitting bodacious in a fabulous one-piece bikini on top of the world.

Free of neurotic boys, older, wiser, and hotter than ever.

How? I’ll tell you…

But before I do!

We can’t let the classic “know it all” or the guys with an excessive amount of testosterone let us feel as if there’s something wrong with us or worthless… when clueless for not knowing better.

A good friend of mine preached, “If everyone already knew & had the wisdom then there wouldn’t still be people suffering” <3

Onto, what my teenage self wished she knew sooner…
